Voluntary Terminations

When a youth minister (or any employee) lets you know they plan to leave their position, please use the following checklist:

  • First, always call Joe Loeber or the diocesan attorney to let them know of the change.

  • Ensure you have receive the employee's resignation letter. 

  • Give the employee written receipt and acceptance of resignation letter.

  • Put a copy of both letters in personnel file.

  • Allow employee to gather personal belongings.

  • Communicate employee departure to staff.

  • Communicate employee departure to parents, teens, and parish at-large.

  • Make a plan to thank them for their ministry and to prayerfully send them off.
